Happy Birthday to Me!

I had a super 38th birthday!  Alice and I got to have brunch with a sister in the ward.  It was so fun to chat and eat quiche.
Lucky us got to have Uncle Patrick over for dinner and cake!  He was in Houston for work, so I felt bad that his family was missing him, but we enjoyed our uncle visit.  I meant to get a picture, but we were too busy having fun for me to remember.
My wonderful sisters sent me this great cook science book and I bought myself this Christopher Marley book when it was on big sale for Christmas (but I acted really surprised when I opened it).  Note the weird hands behind the girls.  That is actually Evelyn.

And Mike bought me a freezer!  I love it!  “Books and a freezer?  Mom presents are weird.”
Evelyn made me this fabulous chocolate Bundt cake with chocolate ganache and toffee bits.  Mmm!
It was a great birthday!  I am so blessed!

Happy Birthday Alice!

Alice turned 4!  She’s getting so big.  She just started Sunbeams at church in January and is growing up too quickly!  Here she is wearing a paper crown Evelyn made for her.

We went to the Dollar Store to pick out birthday plates and napkins a few days before her birthday and she really wanted these party hats.  I like how she wanted to match clothes with Bridget.
That morning we decorated her strawberry cake together.  She pushed the candy pearls in (and ate some too).
We ate lunch with Bridget at school.

Mike came home early to get a crown on his tooth which luckily was a quick process.  So he got to play with us after school at the park.
Lydia had an away soccer game and wasn’t able to be home for the birthday festivities, but she called Alice on her cell phone.  After a gourmet birthday dinner of hot dogs and tater tots Alice got to open her presents.  When I asked her what she wanted for her birthday she said “my strawberry cake.”  I said  “what about a present?”  She said “pony tooth paste.”
“What about toys?”
“Yes, toys.”  Ha!  We bought her a tea set that we can really drink and pour out of.  And a cute butterfly coloring kit.  And My Little Pony toothpaste.
She blew out her candles before we stopped singing which made us laugh.  I guess there’s no rule you have to wait.
The next morning before breakfast Alice and Bridget had a tea party.  Then we all ate leftover cake for breakfast!

We love our sweet Alice.  She is so helpful and kind and so gosh darned cute!  Happy birthday, Alice!
