The simple adventures of our highly entertaining little family

We went to the beach a few Saturdays ago and it was AWESOME!! The kids had never seen the ocean before and it was amazing! Our fabulous Calls came too, which only made a fantastic day even better! The weather was perfect! Here are a few pictures, but they really don't do the day any justice.
I like Isaac's break-dancing move.

Aunt Sydney and the kids made a turtle island. Very cool.

What you can't see is the layer of sand around Evelyn's mouth. Ulch! But she's happy enough. She loved walking in the tide. Lydia, the little thrill seeker, loved going out to the deep waves with the daddies. She couldn't get enough! Everyone had a blast!

That weekend I also found gorgeous chairs for our table! I found them on blessed Craigslist and they are perfect! Not to mention a steal!
Ooh! Aren't they pretty?!!

This last Saturday Isaac started soccer. And Mike volunteered to coach. My handsome boys. I'm not sure who I enjoyed watching more. :)
Here's Coach Mike inspiring his team. Lydia appointed herself assistant coach. She carries the clipboard and is Mike's gopher. She's fantastic.

Evelyn was NOT happy having to stay on the side lines.

Here is a great video of Isaac on the run. He's the best player on our team, bold and fast. It's in his blood (Mike played soccer in high school and still loves the game). Isaac is number 2, although it looks like a big rectangle on his back. Oh, and by the way, he has stopped crying at preschool. :)

Isaac started pre-school last week! Here he his checking out his awesome classroom before school started.
Evelyn really liked the colorful rug.
Fun with pretend Pringles. Quack!
And here he is on his first day of school with his school issue tote! Pretty spiffy!
So far Isaac's had 3 days of school (he goes Tues and Thurs mornings). I've enjoyed running errands with only Evelyn and getting some one on one time with her. And I love having Isaac tell me all about his morning when I pick him up. He is such an animated talker! And he loves school! I have to remind him that because he cries when I leave. I mean like the "No Mommy, don't leave!!" wailing. The teachers say he recovers in like 30 seconds, but of course, when the last thing I hear is my child screaming, it plagues me all morning. Sigh, it's so strange that my outgoing Isaac who has never had a hard time with nursery or primary is struggling with this. He'll get better... I hope. One of the moms told me her son cried every morning for a month. Gulp.

This was a few days after Mike completed his triathlon. What stamina!
The baby swing was for cousin Zeke. And look at Evelyn walking!
