Fun parks

Here are a couple neat parks we've been to lately. One took a short ferry ride down the Brisbane River.

The playground was nothing too fancy, but it was a beautiful day. Bridget watched the ibises with rapt attention.

The ibises are really just giant scavengers, like big pigeons, but I will miss them. They are just too cool.

Someone at the park had everlasting bubbles. Pretty neat!

Last weekend we went to an awesome park! It was in a city called Scarborough by the beach. Look at these amazing trees to climb!

Lydia and Daddy taking a rest.

Then we walked along the beach. Gorgeous!

After a picnic lunch we found a tree with a little door! It says "Gollum."

Although it's gotten a bit cool for "a day at the beach" we brought a change of clothes just in case the water got too tempting. A "wade" in the water indeed turned into a short swim. Here they are sopping wet.

After a play on a little playground and an ice cream treat they were mostly dry, but happy to take showers when we got home. What a fun place! We will definitely be back!

Easter holiday fun

The kids are in the midst of their two week "Easter holidays." Here are some fun things we've done.

We went swimming, probably for the last time this season as the weather is cooling down.

Evelyn wears a floatie vest in the pool and swims like a fish with it on. However, since Mike was in the pool, he let her take it off to teach her some swimming basics. But we discovered something amazing! She can swim! She was all over the pool! Where did that come from? Wild!

Isaac's back flip! That kid has come far in his water confidence!

We took a field trip to see Daddy's work! Mike wasn't sure what they were so excited to see, but it was fun. I still remember going to see Opa's work on base as a little girl. It was pretty magical.

Isaac was convinced Daddy got to play games on his computer all day. Not so, but he did show them how he can drag windows from one computer screen to another! Super exciting!

Then we walked across the street from his office and ate peanut butter sandwiches by the river. (Sorry, no pictures, just imagine sitting by a rock wall on a very windy day)
Bridget is getting so big! She had a rough 3 day fever with a viral body rash 2 weeks ago. She was miserable! We had a couple very long nights.

Luckily, she is feeling much better and back to her cute self! She loves to stand! What a big girl!
