Idaho Birthdays
Mike was furloughed so we took advantage of his time off to spend a few weeks in Idaho Falls with Grandma and Grandpa. Mike’s two sisters and their families also live in town. Hooray for cousins!
Evelyn turned 10! She is my bakingest child (totally a word). We got her a Harry Potter cookbook and this cute apron (and another present that we forgot to put in our luggage. Oops. Just making her birthday last a little longer.).

Lydia chose a hike for her birthday activity. We drove about an hour to a Swan Valley. Lydia rode with Favorite Aunt Shera. (That is her official proclaimed title. She even has a t-shirt that says Favorite Aunt Shera.)

After a hearty dinner of sweet and sour meatballs we enjoyed Grandma’s chocolate cake with everyone. A good ending to a great day.
Happy birthday to my June girls!
We went to the little Idaho Falls zoo for her birthday. Such a perfect little zoo.
Gotta love the flamingoes!
For dinner Grandma made a Mexican feast! Tostadas and flat enchiladas (authentic with a fried egg on top). They were phenomenal.
I made Evelyn a lemon cheesecake for her birthday cake. Actually two, so all the Moore’s and Dangerfield’s could all come and celebrate. So fun to be with family!
Lydia also had a birthday and turned 15! The blueberry muffins that Grandma made for breakfast were in pretty aluminum wrappers. We liked them so much we hung 15 from the light fixture. So festive.

15 fingers with the help of cousin Rebekah.
Ready for our hike!
A birthday bouquet.
It was a gorgeous 4 hour hike! Alice rode a fair share of the way back down on Mike’s shoulders, but other than that everyone did really well.
Evelyn made Lydia some sculpty clay creations. A sloth head, Thor’s hammer, and Captain America’s shield. So creative. Mike and I got her glow in the dark stars for her room and the most important teenage present: money.
