Happenings in Australia
Our branch had a multicultural night which was great fun! Our family represented America with chili and Rice Krispie treats. Man, what a feast! We also enjoyed the cultural talents of our very diverse branch. From a Philippino courting dance to Welsh stories to the Australian didgeridoo.
The sister missionaries danced a Thai dance (one Thai sister and the other is a blonde Arizonian). We taught everyone the Boot Scootin Boogie and Lydia played the Mexican Hat Dance on the piano, which she played very well!
I loved this beautiful Samoan dance.
And the hakkah was a great wrap up! (I failed to have my camera for that one, dang it!). What a fun evening!!
The next day after church I broke my little toe on the bathroom doorframe. This picture was taken shortly after the crunch.
After a painful trip to the ER to get it straightened and taped it looked much better. This was the next day. Look at that big two inch bruise below the toe.
A week later it feels much better, but my toe will never be the same. Poor little thing. Mike and the kids were so good at taking care of me last week. I even got a dinner from my sweet friend Deborah which lasted us two nights! I'm so spoiled!
Mike and the kids had a fun weekend project. They built this cool Star Wars transporter. (One can always tell when Mike goes shopping instead of me). And Mike was very good at letting the kids do the building. He was really tempted to finish it when they went to bed on Sat, but he resisted and they got to finish it Sunday afternoon.
