Happy Birthday to Lydia!!!
Today is Lydia's First Birthday!!! We had a birthday party at Curtis and Kristi's house for our beautiful daughter, and here is what happened...

She wasn't sure what to do once the cake was in front of her. She looked around and reached for the cake to test the reaction, and then...

she attacked and ...

conquered. The fun continued even when we took the cake away, she found that her tray miraculously tasted like chocolate, yummmm...

We may have taken the rest of the cake away, but she had enough on her hands to continue the damage...

The cake was a success, we hope. We haven't seen what will happen to her sleep pattern tonight, but all is well so far...

Thank you to everyone for the emails, calls, cards and gifts. It was a wonderful birthday! We love you all!

Old news is better than no news. Last Monday (so over a week ago) Lydia got her first tooth!! And it's taken me this long to FINALLY get a picture of it. Now that she has a tooth she won't let us in her mouth anymore. So I had to be super distracting to get her to open up. It's the top tooth on the right side, just barely peeking out. It's weird to get a top one as her first, but most babies aren't 2 weeks shy of their first birthday before they get their first one either. Those teeth are just taking their time. But in the picture you can see her other top tooth not far behind those gums. It's close!
But yes, Lydia's birthday is close at hand! In 3 days! I'll be sure to get loads of pictures and put em up!
Here's the latest Johnson family shot, taken a couple weeks ago at Mike's brother's house (back when you could sit outside for more than 5 minutes without sweating like crazy). Which reminds me! Happy first day of official hurricane season!

* An apology to everyone who thought we had 3 foot long lizards on our sliding door. But that picture was merely a close-up of a 6 inch long lizard. Sorry, for the confusion.
