Good week! Mike's Mom and Pop and sister Angie came for our nephew Matthew's baptism on Sunday. It was so great! And they stayed with us in our real house! And we were able to give Mom and Pop a whole room to themselves! Sure, they slept on a mattress on the floor but they had a door! Angie was still sentenced to a couch, but she didn't mind. It was fun to have them here.

And guess what?! Lydia's walking! By herself! Like across the room! At the end of June she started taking a couple steps here and there if we'd sit with her and have her "walk to Daddy." But it was two days ago that she just got up in the middle of the room and took 5 big steps all by herself. I was blown away! She can walk! She doesn't do it all the time, because she still finds her funny crawl more efficient, but she can walk all by herself! Wow!

Our vacation! We just got back from a week in Mexico for our Johnson family reunion. It was such a blast! 12 adults and 14 grandkids! What a party! We spent the week in Colonia Jaurez, also known as the Mormon Colonies. It's a cute little orchard town where Mike's Grandmother and several aunts and uncles live. We spent some time up in the family orchard and enjoyed fresh peaches and raspberries all week! Oh, heavenly! Not to mention all the great Mexican cooking! Wow!
Unfortunately we don't have a whole lot of pictures to show for the trip. Too busy having fun, I guess! But this is a picture of the Hacienda where we spent the last day of the reunion. A big old Mexican building in the middle of nowhere that we had all to ourselves. It has a kitchen and everything, including the most fabulous porch that ran all around the outside. And a big yard to play capture the flag.
The weather was beautiful the whole week! It was a nice escape from the New Orleans sweltering humidity. But we were pleased to make it home and find that there hadn't been a hurricane while we were gone.

Who is that sexy man? This is Mike in his work issue Novex. Unfortunately, the finance folk are rarely in the refinery so they hardly wear them. But who knows, maybe he wears it in his office when he wants to feel snazzy. Rowr!

Guess who's the newest (and probably youngest) seminary teacher in New Orleans? Me! I'm so excited! And intimidated! We'll be learning (me right along with them) the Doctrine and Covenenants and Church History. Starting August 14th. That's early! And this is my new haircut too.

And no blog entry would be complete without Lydia! She's standing up everywhere! She's walking along the couch, coffee table, the tub, and anywhere else she can pull up on. She's taken a couple tumbling steps when Mike and I help her. And she cruises around the living room with her walker. Fast! She's gettin there.

And she's got more teeth! Her two top front ones and a couple more top ones. Still waiting for those bottom ones to come.
