4 Wheel Drive Adventure

A few weeks ago we took the Beast out for a day trip up to Kroombit Tops.  We joined two other families from church and had a blast!  The drive up there was rather tame, but it was beautiful!  Here we're stopped for a little boy potty break.  And Lydia is taking a picture of me taking a picture.
We saw lots of cows.  Even some long horns!
Kroombit Tops is a beautiful look out on some cliffs.  So pretty!
There is also the crash site of an old World War II plane, called Beautiful Betsy.
It's very surreal.  There are plaques telling the story.  Neat to see, but also very sad.
The drive back down the mountain was way more exciting than the trip up.  We found some good rugged terrain for sure!  I was extremely grateful we weren't trekking it alone.  Knowing there was someone to pull us out of a rough spot (should we need it) was very reassuring.
We had such a blast!  You should have heard how the kids squealed and laughed as we went bumping through creek beds!
And even driving through the farmlands was gorgeous.
We saw more cows, some wild kangaroos and even an echidna ambling off the road!!  What a fun adventure!  This really is beautiful country!

April

Time to catch up!

Aly had a short month stay with us.  Before she left Bridget and I took her out to the beach for a last hurrah.
Thanks for the fun, Aly!  We love you and good luck at BYUI!

Easter weekend we got to see Gladstone's own Harbour Festival.  Enjoying the ferris wheel!
Bridget was okay at first, but soon realized she didn't like it at all and cried until we got off.
The Australian Easter Bilby came again this year.
Somehow my annual lamb cake photo disappeared into digital void.  But it was super delicious!!  We were happy to have our next door neighbors and their one year old daughter join us.  Happy Easter!
