Up late!

Last night we let the kids stay up later than usual. We went to South Bank downtown on the river to see a free laser light show! The show was at 7 so we headed down early and brought a picnic dinner. Here are some pictures of the beautiful park before it got dark. The kids are climbing on a neat serpentine looking bench. In the background you can see the Brisbane Ferris wheel.




There is a great jungle looking area in the park. We hunted for eastern water dragons and jumped on the benches.




Lydia and Isaac stopped to pet a stone elephant by the Chinese pagoda.




Here are the kids making silly faces at our picnic dinner while we waited for it to get dark.












Still waiting for the show, I took the kids to walk around and found beautiful Chinese lanterns!




Finally the show began! It was set up on a big barge, so the river water could be used to create the mist for the laser beams. Clever. There were also lasers being shot from the tops of sky scrapers! Awesome! Evelyn got scared, but quietly clung to Mike's shoulder the whole show, which was only 15 minutes long. That was really my only complaint, that it was over way too quickly. This was the best picture I got, which of course didn't do it any justice.




What a fun evening! Luckily the kids will be able to sleep in this week because we just started our two week spring holiday.
