I ate escargot! It was actually really good! It was a dish of 5 little snail meats drowning in butter and garlic. Like little mushrooms. Tasty!
On the topic of tasty dishes, we looked pretty good on formal night! What snazzy folk!
On formal night we noticed another young couple where the girl had sleeves on her dress. We introduced ourselves and sure enough, they were LDS! Ha, I knew it! We hung out with Zac and Beth every day and had a great time together! Hooray for new friends!! Thanks you two!
Everyone else on the boat was so friendly too! The two other couples we sat with at dinner (assigned seating) were awesome! A riot every night! The crew was amazing too. I'd say 90% of the workers were foreigners. Australia, Peru, Phillipines, Italy, you name it. We made friends with a girl who ran one of the shops. Volha from Belarus. What a beautiful name! We visited her every day and she gave us key chains on our last visit. How sweet!
Oh yeah, we did get off the boat too. This is the boat docked in Progreso, Mexico.
In Progreso we got to see the ruins of Chichen Itza. People aren't allowed to climb up the steps anymore, but it was still amazing to see!
We also went to Cozumel, Mexico, which is a jewelry shopping mecca. We window shopped (since we didn't have a couple thousand to burn)(on jewelry OR amazingly gorgeous Persian rugs that I was absolutely drooling over) and enjoyed looking at the beach. Unfortunately, it was too chilly for swimming.
That was the only sad thing about the trip. That it was warm, but it was never hot swimming weather. But it sure beat the snow. One day we went up to the upper deck of the boat to go miniature golfing, but it was too windy that the balls wouldn't stay in place. It was quite comical.
Yeah, rough life. They had all sorts of stuff on that boat! We went to an art auction, to shows in the evening, watched an ice sculpture carving, went to a Newlywed gameshow. Hilarious! And the contestants who won the game and everyone's standing ovation was a couple who'd been married for 61 years! There was even an arcade! What more does a boy at heart need?
But Mike's favorite place on the boat was the window seat in our room. The room was actually more spacious than I'd anticipated and was really nicely done.
It was a lovely 5 days, but we were happy to see our kids again!! A HUGE thanks to Curtis and Kristi for watching them! Like really HUGE! We finally made home last night after 2 days of driving, and you know, I'd do it again. But man, it is great to be home!

Hooray for fun cruises-but I totally agree that it is nice to be home!!
Hey-why didn't we get a cool window seat?!?
So glad we met you guys-we'll have to do it again sometime :)
Lucky!!!! We had our taste of the cruising lifestyle on our mini 2-night Bahamas cruise, but have yet to take a "real" one... And there's absolutely nothing wrong with taking pictures of your food. I do it all the time.
Cruises are our favorite vacation next to family reunions! Glad you had a fun get away and are now safe at home.
Sounds like that was a lot of fun!
Fun!!!!
Jeolous!!!
Yay! Cruise pics! So fun. Thanks for posting. Holy hot momma in the blue sparkley dress! Gorgeous! Love you guys. Glad you had fun. :)
It looks like it was a TON of fun. Cor and I will have to venture out and try that sometime. Maybe we'll have to plan a time and go together. :)
Pure envy over here. We went to a family Valentine's Dance and it just wasn't the same. I told Ben he would have to wait for our cruise before we could dance together again.
