Ta Da!
Mike came home yesterday from work and we checked on our still darkening cacoon. "Yup, still a cacoon." Then we left the room for like 20 minutes and came back and there was a butterfly in the jar again! Man, too fast for us!
We let it go in the backyard, but it was still kinda sluggish so we got to hold it on our fingers. I'm sure Lydia would have liked to as well, but it probably wouldn't have turned out so well for the butterfly. (Yes, Mike is growing out his hair, with much encouragement from me)
So that's the end of our science project! Two beautiful black swallowtail butterflies! A success!

The butterflies are beautiful! What a fun project to do as a family.
Oh, and nice hair Mike! I would also like to encourage growing it out.... :~P ha ha ha.
Manburger was pretty bummed about the hair growing out thing, but I definitely understand the appeal of a full head of hair on your man.
