Isaac the Teenager

Isaac turned 13 on Saturday.  (Wahh!  Why do they grow up so quickly?)  Lucky for us the Robins came down for the weekend!  Uncle Patrick surprised him with breakfast from Chick-fil-a.  What a treat!  Sorry the picture is blurry, it must be the magic emanating from the boxes of Chicken Minis.
Clark helping Isaac with 13.
Initially the plan was to take the Robins to the beach, but due to the swells from Tropical Storm Delta the beaches were closed.  Oh well.  Instead Laura found the Mercer Botanic Gardens just a half hour north of us.  What a great place!  Lydia pointed out on HER 13th birthday we went to a botanic garden with Tammens too!  How funny!
The boys found palm sheddings to make armor/weapons.
Cute girls on a giant chair in the children’s garden.
Posing ballerinas.
After heading home for lunch the daddies and kids went swimming while I finished the cake.  Mint chocolate!
Sabrina and Evelyn worked really hard on this present for Isaac.  It’s a Mandalorian helmet made out of poster board, cardboard, and black panty hose.  I love how big Isaac’s eyes got when he opened it.
A cool helmet, money, socks, and a Gravitrax (a buildable marble track set).  A pretty good birthday!

Then Isaac had to complete the outfit with his Jedi robe and a sword.

Time for cake!!  So fun to share it with cousins.  Happy birthday to our pretty cool Isaac!
Isaac had his first cross country meet this week and the athletes dressed up for school that day.  He’s so handsome!  (Never mind the piles of laundry on the floor.)
He didn’t do as well as he would have liked at his first meet, but he learned to hydrate better next time.  Running in the morning is different than running on a warm afternoon.  He’s got some great teammates.  And their school did win the meet!
