March

The month of March started off normal enough.  Isaac had his regionals LEGO robotics competition.  The boys had fun, but they had no interest in advancing since it cost $1,000 to compete in Worlds.  They did well and were happy to finish.
The second week of March was spring break.  The first few days we were busy getting Lydia ready for Trek.

Unfortunately, the night before Trek she came down with a fever and strep.  She was miserable on so many levels and we were heartbroken for her.  She fell asleep in the car after her doctor’s appointment.
Our spring break turned out pretty lame so we were ecstatic to be given a second week of spring break due to Covid-19.  The best part was that Oma and Opa were coming and now we wouldn’t have school to cut into our grandparent time!  We were so grateful they got here without any drama and we were all healthy.  A visit from from the pizza goblin.
The older kids used their Christmas present of iFly certificates.  The deal we had gotten was 10 flights.  Since 10 doesn’t divide into 3 equally, we had an extra flight left over.  So we let Bridget have a turn.  She loved it!  They all did great and it was fun to let Opa and Oma watch!

The iFly adventure was our only “outing” since everything other than grocery stores were closed.  But that’s okay because we found lots of fun things to do at home.  Building binoculars from Home Depot kits.

Opa and Lydia making cinnamon rolls.
Oma and Evelyn playing with fabric.
We took Oma and Opa to see nutria at the local park.
At the park we saw this sign.  The first of many during this Covid-19 chapter.
We had such a wonderful time with Oma and Opa.  We were so happy they got to come!
