Fire Station Field Trip
On Saturday we baked cookies to bring to the local fire station. I was hoping they'd let us peek at the trucks or something. Well! We got the grand tour!! We were there for an hour! We got to see their sleeping quarters (no pole because it's just one story). We looked at cool stuff in the trucks, Isaac tried on some gear.
The kids tried to heft some of their packs,
And we all got a shot at the hose! It was just a little one on very low pressure (but Isaac said he saw the fireman turn up the pressure for Mike).

So awesome! What great firemen your community has!
Great learning thing for the children. Probably be the only ones in their schools (back stateside) that have played with and received instruction from Australian Fire Fighters. Hooray, love Opa
Did the firemen show you how they get cats down that are "stuck" up in a tree and their humans are so worried? A two inch hose and 40 pounds of pressure. Yow, flying wet cats - catch them in a blanket when they fall. Ha.
How many cats or possums did you knock out of trees with those 50mm hoses? looks like a great visit. Love Opa
You could use a 50mm hose with about 16kg of pressure to get cats down from trees and telephone poles. Albany FD used a 2 inch hose with 40 psi. Love Opa
