The Beast

Welcome the newest addition to the family! We bought this '98 Land Cruiser from our dear Brouwers who just ended their Australian adventure and have returned to the states. Their family lovingly referred to this vehicle as "the Beast" and it's aptly named. This thing is huge!  (Look how high I have to step to get in it!)

And the kids love it! "It's got a snorkel!!"

Initially I was hesitant to drive it.  I told Mike "I am not driving that thing."  but now I really like it. I look at little cars from my towering height and think smugly "my car can eat your car." We bought the Beast intending to replace Mike's little Yaris that he rarely drives anyway, but ever since we switched the car seats over to take the kids for a spin the Beast has become the family car. And it can alternately run on LPG (liquified petroleum gas) which is cheaper and cleaner than gasoline. We just may be sending our Mazda CX-9 to the classifieds.
We took our Beast out for some fun yesterday! We found some rugged dirt roads not far from our house (we DO live in the middle of no where). The kids squealed with delight as we tramped through puddles and Bridget slept on, unfazed.

We have some friends who know some good 4 wheeling trails "where you can get your car reaaallllly dirty!" Can't wait!
