January

January started out with a day trip to Indianapolis to see my bestest friend's daughter get baptized.  Our kids with Steven and Charlotte.  We had so much fun!  (Look at Evelyn's crazy face.  That's like her thing now, sigh.)

January brought the kids their first ever snow day.  They were so excited to have a free day off school.

Lucky us got to to watch an OSU men's volleyball game against BYU!  And we won!
There was a lot of blue in the stands.  It's true what they say, BYU has fans wherever they go.

The kids tried their hands (or feet) at ice skating.  We went with a family from the ward and had a great time.  I was impressed with the kids' determination and endurance.  They skated for almost 3 hours!  Bridget plodded along with this nifty walker.
Evelyn clung to the wall mostly.  Isaac made some improvement by the end and Lydia did quite well.
Alice and I hung out and watched them.
Eventually I decided to give it a go with Alice.  After getting her laced up in the tiniest skates they had I took her out.  She did NOT like it.  We got 3 feet out on the ice and she screamed!  Oh how she screamed!  Look at that grumpy face.
The older girls were nice enough to let me skate on my own for a spell.  Yep, I was just as awkward as I was when I was in high school!

Bridget had a pajama day at preschool.  She was so excited.  Like really really excited.  It was adorable.
And her class collected milk cartons and made this awesome igloo!

Alice had a birthday!  How I love two year olds!  "Two!"
We had orange cupcakes with rainbow sherbet, but her cheeks are just as scrumptious!

I had a birthday too!  Oma and Opa came up to visit and I got an early birthday present!  A beautiful tablecloth for my big table!  This picture is full of prettiness!
For my birthday "cake" Lydia made me cinnamon rolls which we ravished with hot chocolate.  Sorry, I only have a very non photogenic picture to share.  But it was a great day!  Happy Birthday to me!

What a great family - learning new things - maybe next year will be snow shoeing or skiing. Snow is fun when you can come into a warm house. Miss you all so much, Opa.
